So you’ve go a new hoverboard, it’s the coolest thing ever and you want to splash out on some accessories. What is there to choose from? When it comes to hoverboard accessories, there is a huge choice of gizmos, gadgets and added extras that will improve your riding experience.
Hoverboard add ons include, LED lights (useful if your model doesn’t already come with built-in lights), decal stickers to add a bit of art to your hoverboard, a spare battery, which will enable you to ride further if you carry it in a backpack and a hoverkart kit.
A hoverkart kit is a great piece of kit if you want to race your hoverboard, learn some new tricks or simply ride it like a go kart. It is easy to attach to the hoverboard and it immediately adds a seat, an extra wheel and hand steering. It’s one of the most popular hoverboard attachments on the market.
All these extras aren’t just for the kids because there are hoverboard attachments for adults too. There are plenty of sturdy hoverkart kits available that are suitable for grown-ups – check the maximum weight before you buy.
When it comes to self balancing board accessories, helmets are up there in pole position. Like any electronic mode of transport, there is a risk of injury and a helmet is essential. There are so many great designs out there nowadays, you’d be crazy not to want to wear one.
Other things for hoverboards, include a silicone cover, which enables you to change the colour and design of the hoverboard, in addition to offering some protection against dirt and water splashes. They are really easy to put on and come in a huge range of colours and patterns – you could have one for every day of the week if you wanted.
One of our favourite accessories for hoverboard is the Pro Hoverkart, which is great for adults as it comes with a really tough and roomy bucket seat. It is fully adjustable to suit riders of all ages and sizes. It has an aluminium alloy frame and super tough air filled tyres with an inner tube.
If you take your hoverboard out and about a lot, then a waterproof carry bag is a real bonus. It will keep it clean and dry and you can sling it over your shoulder when not riding.
Another bonus is Bluetooth speakers and it’s best to make sure that these come as standard when you buy your hoverboard. Most good hoverboards are Bluetooth enabled now and some come with apps, that allow you to check battery levels, speed, distance travelled etc.
When it comes to spares, you’ll find batteries, chargers, tires and every other component you can think of, although in some cases, you’ll need to get them from the manufacturer.
If you think there’s a problem with your hoverboard, rather than buy the spare part and fix it for yourself, there are outlets available that will inspect it for faults and damage.
